Thief Took Memories
I read this artical on the MX, the free newspapers distribute in station.
My home was violated on saturday night.
While celebrating a family occasion in the city, some low-life broke into my home and helped himself.
I couldn't believe it. The thief stole all the things that mattered - jewellery, cash, a camera and a trinket box which belonged to my grandmother. Losing my beloved trinket box stung the most.
It is round, painted gold, the size of a coaster with an embroidered flower on the lid, and has red felt lining.
I am willing to offer a reward for its reture.
All my CSs, DVDs and left untounched. I would have preferred the thief has taken these.
What saddens me is that some things just can't be replaced. Memories can't be replaced.
The violation made me realise we are not as safe as we think, that there are people in society who don't care who they hurt, who have no shame in stealing things that do not belong to them.
I am a firm believer that what goes around, comes around. I hope this thief gets whatever is coming.
First I feel sorry for this guy, really it is a disaster. In the almost three-year-life in Sydney, many friends of mine, had the same experience as this guy. And just few weeks ago, one of my friend's house was violated, lost three laptop, cash, jewelly etc. But really what people lose it is the confidence.
