Internet Connection Speed Testing
One of the thing people most concerted when they are choosing a ADSL plan is the connecting speed. But many of the user complain that the speed is not what you experted. It is the problem of your ADSL provider or the webserve? Is there a way to calculate?
There is not a way that can give you a exactly result of the speed of your ADSL service, the speed of a connection is effected by many factors, the quality of the line, distance from the exchange. But there are some ways to estimate the speed. One of most convenient way is using website testing. What I recommed is Speedtest.net.
Speedtest.net is a broadband connection analysis tool with a huge selection of geographically dispersed testing servers. Ookla provides this service free to hundreds of thousands of people every day. If you are experiencing slowness with your Internet connection or are simply interested in testing your speed, Speedtest.net is for you. If you have a web site, please feel free to link to Speedtest.net.
Open the site and just pick one servce on the map and click, the testing will begin, and you will have a result like this one below. Here is my results of connecting different servers over the world. And I would like to see yours.
PS: I am using a ADSL2+ service provide by iinet in Sydney.
