Two Way Todo list Sync on iPhone and Windows

IPhone now has became the most popular mobile device with its powerful platform and thousands application. And people starts use it daily for almost everything. One most common thing people do on iPhone it is record a to-do list. There are tones of application which provide different kind of to-do services, and there are some good to-do apps for example Todo from Appigo and Things. Those apps have powerful to-do function but some of them do not have a good sync way to sync between iPhone and windows. And in this post, I am going to introduce a way you can do a two way to-do list sync between iPhone and windows.

Things we need:

Todo from Appigo on iPhone ($12.99 on app store, buy it you will find it is worth that money.)
Windows outlook (I think you have it on your computer)
A toodledo account (it is free, but some shortfall here, better to upgrade to pro account,explain at the end.)
Toodledo Outlook Synchronization Client

Follow the step you will get you two ways sync:

First go to toodledo.com and sign up a free account.
Get your Todo from Appigo installed in your iphone.
Open the Todo application and go to setting page.
Select the synchronization option, select Toodledo as the sync service.
Type you toodledo user name and password here. And save the setting. Now you first have the two way sync between iphone and the web todo application Toodledo, you can assess your todo list if you are on the internet.
The next thing is to make outlook sync with Toodledo. Here you will need the Toodledo outlook synchronization client, download that and install the client. Once finish the installation run the client. Then open its option. There are many options you can change but before that we have to link this client with your toodledo account. Here you will need to enter a toodledo ID in the account option page. This ID you can find on toodledo websit. Login the website and you will find your ID in your account page.
Fishing setting the account and do a sync first then you now have a two way automactic todo list sync using Todo from Appigo and Outlook from Microsoft.

Addition:

I know many people do not use Outlook a lot. And some of you may like me, want to see the todo list stick on the beautiful desktop. And yes you can do that. What you need it is a software call Rainlendar. And you need a pro version so you can sync outlook with Rainlendar. It is not free but still a good way to sync the todo list.

The next it is really easy. Just go to rainlendar setting page, and sync the outlook account with Rainlendar calendar option.

Some people may found Todo from Appigo expensive, there is a cheaper solution, toodledo has its own iphone application, it cost you about 2 or 3 dollars.

ShortFall

it is not free. The todo software we used here it is not free.
when you use a free toodledo account and you have a any subtask in you todo application want to sync, sorry, the subtask will become a normal task, that is because the free toodledo account do not provide the subtask support, if you want, go pro.

The method use here is not perfect and I try to find other alternation which cost less. but that is the way I sync todo list now. if you have any suggestion, leave a comment here.

现在iphone以他强大的系统和成千上万的程序已经蜕变成了最受欢迎的智能手机。很多使用者已经通过iPhone来处理日常的事件。其中大家很常使用的就是记录todolist。Iphone上有很多很多不同的todo软件，比较出名的有appigo的Todo和Things。这些软件都提供了很好的todo功能，但是他们的同步功能并不那么理想。在这篇文章里，我要推荐我自己使用的一个在iphone和windows中双向同步的方法。

我们需要的东西：

Appigo的Todo (现在app store上要$12.99 但是觉得不会觉得亏的。)
Windows outlook (额，难道你会没有office？)
一个toodledo 账户 (这里我们可以先申请免费的帐号，但是有个不好的地方，在文章最后我会提到。)
Toodledo Outlook Synchronization Client （一个toodledo和outlook同步的软件）

详细步骤：

打开 toodledo.com 然后注册一个免费账号。
安装Appigo的Todo到你的iphone上。（这部你应该要懂吧，不懂我也没办法）
打开Todo，然后进入setting页面。
选择 synchronization, 选Toodledo作为同步的额，中介？
输入你刚才申请的toodledo的账号和密码. 然后点击save. 现在你的iphone上的Todo就和网络上的todo实现同步了，你可以先手动同步下，然后登入toodledo上看下。
接下来要做的就是让toodledo和outlook同步了。在这里你会需要一个软件叫Toodledo outlook synchronization client, 下载然后安装.安装完成后我们就可以打开这个软件的option页面。这里有很多选项，不过在设置这些选项前我们先要连接我们的toodledo账号和outlook。点击account选项会要你填入一个toodledo ID，这个ID可以在你的toodledo网站上找到（不是你的用户名），登入toodledo网站，然后进入account页面，里面有个unique ID，那就是了。输入，确定即可。
设置好后，我们可以先手动同步下。这样你就有了在iphone和windows双向同步的todo list了。

我知道很多人不怎么用outlook的，我也是其中一个。而且我比较喜欢在我的桌面上直接看到todo list。如果你想要像我这样，你可以再安装一个软件叫rainlendar。不过这里你需要pro的版本，不然不支持和outlook同步。安装rainlendar后，到option里的calendar设置和outlook同步就行。

有些人会觉得Appigo的Todo很贵，我也觉得。不过toodledo 自己有一个iphone的程序，比较便宜，2，3美金，也是不错的选择。

缺点：

不是全程免费，没办法，软件要钱。
之前提到说使用free的toodledo的账号会有不好的地方，这个地方就是当你有subtask在你的todo里，你从iphone同步到toodledo的时候不会有问题，但是从toodledo同步到iphone和windows时，所以的subtask会变成普通的task。会发生这样的事情是因为toodledo的free account不支持subtask，如果你真的很需要，就上pro account吧，就是要钱，呵呵。
